Our Mission.
To guide meaningful community engagement to inform the design of built environments that are enjoyable, beneficial, and usable to as many people as possible.
Certification for collaborative placemaking.
The Community-Informed Design for Inclusive Environments (CIDIE) Standard™ is a building certification program for translating community insights into tangible design solutions. CIDIE was developed through qualitative case study research on real-world projects that aimed to eliminate barriers in the built environment through community-engaged design.
The Standard’s innovative frameworks are designed to uniquely guide project teams in gathering and integrating community insights throughout the design process and post-occupancy.
